Student Legal Service (Immigration)

The Student Legal Service is now able to provide free Migration Legal Advice to all current UTAS Students on a weekly basis.

The Student Legal Service is operated during University semester by senior law students studying at the University of Tasmania. The service is available to every member of the community and provides free and confidential legal advice and referrals. It acts as a first point of call for people who may have a legal problem but are unsure where to go for help.

About the Student Legal Service

Until 2011, the Student Legal Service was only a referral service, directing clients to other community legal services. However, from Semester 1 2012, the service is now available to provide legal advice under the guidance of volunteer solicitors and students. Our aim is to provide accessible legal advice for all members of the community.
