Housing & Accommodation Support

Are you finding it difficult to find somewhere safe and stable to live?

Perhaps you are having trouble with your landlord or are facing homelessness?

Although the TUU no longer provides accommodation services, we still want to be able to help students find somewhere to live.

Getting a roof over your head

Finding accommodation can be a stressful experience, especially with the current shortage of available and/or quality rental property statewide.

Facebook Housing Group

We host a dedicated Facebook group where you can find available accommodation. It is only for students of the University and membership of the group is strictly managed to ensure this.

University accommodation

The University of Tasmania has dedicated and purpose built accommodation services statewide. Visit their website to find out more about the options available including the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS). See this page for a statewide breakdown of accommodation options offered by the University.

Other Resources

Most available professionally managed rental properties are listed either on realestate.com.au or Gumtree.

Issues with your lease or landlord

Our Student Advocates can help you to understand your current circumstances, and figure out a plan to help.
If you have a lease, we can help you understand what it means for you, and we can refer you on to the Tenants Union of Tasmania.
