The TUU partners with a number of community organisations in order to advance our mission. Current formal partnerships and/or MOUs exist between the TUU and the following organisations:
Although the TUU operates independently of the University of Tasmania, without it we would have no members, and no reason to exist. It is the students of UTAS we are here to serve, and so our partnership with the University is essential to achieving our goals.
We lobby UTAS and fight for student rights, but whenever students will benefit from the TUU and UTAS working collaboratively (like O-Week events, or the Student Leadership Symposium), we are happy to walk alongside them.
Edge Radio has a huge student listenership, and have great values of community engagement and student development that we here at the TUU can really get behind.
We have a formal partnership with Edge Radio, which helps to support them and provides the TUU with a valuable opportunity to communicate with students on air.
Anglicare Tasmania is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of support services to the people of Tasmania.
Anglicare is the provider of our student Financial Counselling services , and we are very grateful for this long-term partnership which has been helping students for many years.
Student Legal Service
Our partnership with the Student Legal Service supports our Student Advocacy area by providing independent and personalised legal advice to students needing migration advice.
As part of this partnership, the SLS and the TUU also co-host a general migration advice session for students twice a year.
The TUU also works with consultants to provide services, research, and workshops and mentoring for student growth.
