A day of fun and friendly competition at Blundstone Arena
Games and sports exist in every known culture in the world. They bring together fun, team-work and physical creativity to unite people across boundaries of race and creed.
World Games Day introduces dozens of lesser known games, dance, music and food from cultures across the globe for people to have a go on the hallowed ground at Blundstone Arena.
Featured games: Community World Soccer Cup, Hurling, Table Tennis, Grid Iron, Cricket, Hockey, Gaelic Football, Badminton, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee
Performances: Wushu, Bollywood Dance, Tango, Bhutanese Dance, Cuban Salsa, Lion and Dragon Dances, Circus, South Indian Dance and combined schools dance performance from Bayview Secondary College and Lauderdale, Rokeby and Clarendon Vale Primary Schools.
Music: Paywand, DJ Vermaz, Karen Choir, DJ DynOmite
Food: Sierra Leone, Bhutan, Liberia, Tibet, South America, Sri Lanka, South America
Free Transport – Pick up: Glenorchy Bus Mall – 10:30 + 11:30am, Tas Tafe Campbell Street – 10:45 + 11:45am
Free Transport – Return: Blundstone Arena to Hobart City and Glenorchy – 2 + 3pm
